    PROVERBS 29

Song 28 and Prayer | Opening Comments (1 min.)

    TREASURES FROM GOD’S WORD

    1. Reject Unscriptural Beliefs and Customs

    (10 min.)

Obey Jehovah, and enjoy true happiness (Pr 29:18; wp16.6 6, box)

Rely on godly wisdom to determine whether a custom is pleasing to Jehovah (Pr 29:3a; w19.04 17 ¶13)

Resist pressure to conform to unscriptural customs (Pr 29:25; w18.11 11 ¶12)

Collage: 1. A brother takes notes as he does research using the Bible and the book “Scriptures for Christian Living.” 2. The same brother explains his beliefs to his non-Witness family members. Some family members listen intently while others express frustration with what the brother is saying.

Careful Bible-based research and good communication can help you overcome pressure to compromise

    • Pr 29:5—What is flattery, and in what way does ‘a man who flatters his neighbor spread out a net for his feet’? (it “Flattery” ¶1)

    • What spiritual gems from this week’s Bible reading would you like to share?
